What is Word and Character Counter?
Counting words sounds trivial but matters a great deal to writers, students and anyone doing SEO. A title tag over 60 characters gets truncated by Google, and so does a meta description over 160. An article aiming to rank usually needs several hundred words before it reads as substantial at all.
This tool counts words, characters with and without spaces, sentences, paragraphs and lines simultaneously, plus a reading-time estimate at the standard 200 words per minute. No. Counting happens entirely in your browser. This page has no text-processing server, no database, and never transmits what you type.
How is Chinese counted?
Chinese and Japanese do not put spaces between words, so each Han character counts as one unit. That is the standard approach for these languages.
How long should an SEO article be?
There is no magic number, but anything under 300 words tends to read as thin. Articles ranking in competitive topics are frequently over 1,000 words. What matters more than length is whether the piece fully answers the reader's question.
