What is Split Image into Grid for Instagram?
A grid layout spreads one large image across several posts on an Instagram profile. When someone views your profile, the tiles reassemble into a single picture — a striking effect commonly used for campaign covers and product reveals.
This tool splits an image into equal tiles and numbers them by row and column. One thing to remember when posting: Instagram places the newest post at the top left, so you must post in reverse — start with the last tile of the last row and finish with the first tile of the first row.
How to use

Frequently asked questions
In what order should I post the tiles?
The reverse of reading order. Instagram puts the newest post at the top left, so post the last tile of the bottom row first, work backwards, and post the row-1 column-1 tile last.
How large should the source image be?
For a 3×3 grid, the source should be at least 3240 pixels wide so each tile reaches 1080 pixels — the resolution Instagram actually serves. Anything smaller will look soft when displayed large.
Can I download everything as one zip?
Tiles currently download one at a time, slightly staggered so the browser does not block them. Your browser may ask permission to download multiple files — choose Allow.
